Counter Argument

My paper is mainly based on the logical aspect of possession. Although I at first wanted to aim for a mainly neutral paper and discussing both the spiritual and scientific aspects of possession. It focuses on mental illness and how people believed to be possessed throughout history were most likely just victims of mental illnesses. However, there is still the belief that possession is actually a thing of reality. There are even cases of several exorcisms still occurring in modern times. With reports of symptoms of possessed individuals including things such as levitation, with it being scientifically unexplainable, could the possibility of possessions being more than just a thing of fiction? One of the sources I used in my paper, an article written by Simon Usborne, the article talks about Matt Baglio and his first-hand experience watching exorcisms. The article ends with the line "Whether or not demons exist, I've talked to enough non-believing skeptics and doctors who admit something real is happening."(Usborne)
